Dr. Brendan McCarthy
Chief Medical Officer (Not Currently Accepting New Patients)
Dr. Brendan McCarthy founded Protea Medical Center in 2006. In his role as Chief Medical Officer, Protea has grown and evolved into a dynamic medical center serving not only the Phoenix Valley, but also central Arizona.
A licensed Naturopathic Medical Doctor, Dr. Brendan McCarthy is also the author of Jump Off The Mood Swing, a book that illustrates his unorthodox approach to mental and emotional wellness through hormone balance.
Using blood work and clinical investigation, he uncovers root causes of common conditions like anxiety, PMS, depression, and slow metabolism.
Internationally recognized as an expert in hormone replacement therapy, he has educated physicians and pharmacists on topics ranging from weight loss and infertility to nutritional therapy.
His work is grounded in a belief that excellent care requires more than credentials—it demands compassion.
That philosophy has shaped a practice known for its personalized attention and patient empowerment.
Through education and empathy, he helps individuals take control of their health.
He spends his free time with his wife Celeste and their three children, Liam, Aedan and Audrey. They enjoy hiking, swimming, and traveling.

Dr. Michele Gliniecki
Senior Physician
Dr. Michele Gliniecki is a licensed Naturopathic Medical Doctor. She graduated summa cum laude in Biochemistry from UW-Milwaukee before earning her medical degree from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine.
Her training spans nutrition, herbal medicine, acupuncture, minor surgery, and pharmacology. She blends these tools to treat chronic conditions such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, autoimmune disease, and hormone imbalances. Through individualized nutrition and lifestyle plans, she helps support long-term metabolic health.
In addition to bioidentical hormone therapy, Dr. Gliniecki offers peptides, IVs, aesthetic treatments (including Botox, fillers, and PDO threads), and medications when appropriate.

Dr. Brittany Warren
Senior Physician
Dr. Brittany Warren is a licensed Naturopathic Physician in Arizona. She holds degrees in Public Health and Biology from the University of Central Oklahoma and earned her Doctorate at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine.
Her clinical interests include hormone health, thyroid and adrenal function, GI issues, autoimmune disorders, neurotransmitters, and growth hormone deficiencies. She also specializes in aesthetics and regenerative medicine.
Dr. Warren brings advanced training in hormone therapy, IVs, and peptides. She empowers patients through education and support as they pursue lasting wellness.
When not in the clinic, she enjoys cooking, working out, and exploring the outdoors with her two sons.

Dr. Jessica Murdoch
Senior Physician
Dr. Jessica Murdoch earned a B.A. in Health Science from Colorado Christian University before completing her Doctorate and residency at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine.
Her practice includes IV therapy, acupuncture, botanical medicine, hormone optimization, and regenerative treatments. She addresses autoimmune conditions, digestive concerns, and lifestyle-driven illnesses with a root-cause approach.
Dr. Murdoch crafts personalized care plans to help patients meet their health goals. Outside of medicine, she enjoys hiking, snowboarding, playing sports like basketball and volleyball, and spending quality time with loved ones.

Dr. Bronwyn Carlblom
Senior Physician, Residency Director
Dr. Bronwyn Carlblom earned her medical degree and completed a two-year residency at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. Her clinical expertise includes digestive disorders, metabolic health, hormone imbalances, depression, and anxiety.
She integrates both natural and conventional treatments, using a blend of nutrition, herbal medicine, acupuncture, IV therapy, hormones, and pharmaceuticals as needed.
Before entering medicine, she studied classical music at USC—a background that shaped her precision, empathy, and discipline. She enjoys great food, music, travel, and time outdoors.

Dr. Daniel Berzins
Physician
Dr. Daniel Berzins completed his undergraduate studies in Biology and Chemistry at Northern Arizona University and earned his medical degree from Sonoran University.
He focuses on identifying the root causes of chronic disease and values patient education. His specialties include hormone therapy, metabolism, diabetes, thyroid health, peptides, men’s health, and nutrition.
Additionally, Dr. Berzins offers IVs, regenerative therapies, and hormone replacement care.
Outside the clinic, his passions include faith, family, lifting weights, cooking, fishing, and spending time with his wife and children.

Dr. Melissa Clark
Physician
Dr. Melissa Clark graduated at the top of her class from Sonoran University of Health Sciences and completed a residency in endocrinology. She also holds a Kinesiology degree from the University of British Columbia.
She is known for turning complex science into actionable steps that help patients reach the root cause of their health issues. Her clinical focus includes thyroid disorders, low testosterone, PCOS, menopause, diabetes, infertility, and IBD/IBS.
Dr. Clark incorporates hormone therapy, IV treatments, peptides, medications, and nutrition into her care approach.
In her free time, she enjoys road cycling, running, weightlifting with her husband, and exchanging pet photos with patients.

Dr. Shay Saba
Physician
Dr. Shay Saba is a licensed Naturopathic Medical Doctor with training from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and a residency in general medicine.
She offers care for the entire family, focusing on hormones, fertility, thyroid and adrenal health, and longevity. Known for her compassionate listening, she uncovers often-overlooked root causes and develops personalized, evidence-based treatment plans.
Her toolkit includes supplements, nutrition, IV therapy, botanicals, hormone therapy, and prescriptions when necessary.
Outside the office, she enjoys cooking, yoga, travel, and quality time with her husband and dog.
